Not to sound like a whiney bitch, but I think this might be the first nice christmas I've ever had with my parents. Don't get me wrong, I'm always super thankful for everything and they (well, usually my dad is) always super generous with everything, but it's hard most years. Its rare to get thru the morning without a fight, never mind the whole day. But today is different. For once my mom actually likes everything she got. My parents didn't get into a fight unwrapping or wrapping anything. It's christmas morning and for once, I am happy.
Every year I am away from home my parents get a little better. I hate to say it, but me going to college is the best thing to ever happen to this family. I love my parents very much, and I am glad we are all healing. This is perhaps the best gift I could have ever asked for. Merry Christmas everybody. I hope you and your loved ones find peace this year.
